Manager, Advanced Analytics 8300 Maryland Avenue, St. Louis , Missouri

What We Do – Accountabilities

  • Assures the development and iteration of analytic solutions to important business problems across channels and brands within the Caleres Brand Portfolio
  • Assures the continuous improvement of analytic environments and their scaled adoption across stakeholder teams
  • Assures the growth and development of a high-performance advanced analytics team

Essential Functions

  • Builds analytic solutions to important business problems in the realms of consumer sentiment and behavior, media and marketing communications effectiveness, commercial outcomes and omnichannel retail performance
  • Partners with cross-functional stakeholder teams to drive alignment and operational excellence, including sales, marketing, media, creative, eCommerce and IT
  • Works with senior leadership to identify and validate strategic choices related to consumer and commercial development
  • Builds analytic models that measure and predict value in realms including consumer lifetime value; sales channel value (including eCommerce, company-owned brick-and-mortar stores, retail partners, consumer services); marketing communication and media (including catalogs, direct mail, email, social, affiliate, display, other)
  • Develops advanced consumer segmentation and clustering based on inputs such as shopping behavior, communication engagement, demographics and attitudinal characteristics
  • Maintains data visualization and analytic dashboards for stakeholder teams across the company
  • Maintains clear documentation
  • Manages daily operations, workload, project prioritization, and personal development of direct reports
  • Partners with other analytics team-members on special projects and other analysis as needed

Preferred Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics field required
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in data-oriented role. Retail and/or marketing verticals preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in SQL and R or Python development for descriptive and predictive analytics, and data engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience using Business Intelligence tools (developing reports, interactive dashboards, and dimensional models). Microsoft Power BI preferred
  • Experience developing resilient ETL/ELT data pipelines. Exposure to the Microsoft Azure data stack preferred (i.e. storage, Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse)
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including data visualization
  • Proactive problem solver, with a high level of independence and productivity
  • Balances analytical skills, detail orientation, and decision-making skills
